Beats™ by Dr. Dre™ has set the world of music on fire. DJs, celebrities, and audiophiles alike have embraced the incredible recording studio-quality sound created by Beats™ headphones. Simply put: the audio game has changed.

Chrysler was the first automaker to integrate the Beats™ by Dr. Dre™ audio system to its vehicles, with the2012 Chrysler 300S. Now, it's Dodge's turn to bring the unbeatable audio-experience to the 2012 Dodge Charger. Dodge engineers worked side-by-side with Beats™ by Dr. Dre ™ founder and legendary producer Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, Chairman of Interscope Geffen-A&M Records  to create this groundbreaking audio system.

"There's nothing more exciting than a high performance car combined with a high performance audio experience  and the integration with Beats™  Audio technology into the Charger is the next logical step in our exclusive automotive expansion with Chrysler Group," said Iovine.

The 2012 Dodge Charger models powered by Beats™ by Dr. Dre™ will arrive at Dodge dealerships nationwide in early 2012 and feature a 10-speaker audio system. A state-of-the-art Uconnect© Touch 8.4 inch touchscreen, the segment's largest, controls the 12-channel amplifier that creates top-notch, professional sound.  While Beats™ keep blazing a new path for audio, we're proud to be the official wheels for the ride.

Our Dodge Charger is known in many circles for its muscular HEMI® V8, street smart looks, attitude, and is very tech savvy inside sort of like a heavy weight boxer mixed with a nuclear physicist.

When the editors of Edmunds.com presented us with its "Breakthrough Technology Award" last week, they recognized the 2012 Charger for the intuitive, practical, and affordable technology that's designed to enhance safety and convenience for both driver and passengers.

What won the judges over?

First, it was our cutting-edge and customer friendly Uconnect® Touch infotainment system. Its reliable Bluetooth hands-free and voice-recognition features allows for incoming and outgoing calls to be easier for drivers so they can keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

Second, Edmunds.com also commented on the Uconnect® Touch system's generous 8.4-inch screen that's easier to scroll through for all navigation and entertainment features along with climate control and vehicle functions.

Third, the editors also liked Charger's numerous safety features such as the blind-spot and rear cross-path detection and SmartBeam® auto-adjusting HID headlamps.

To sum it all up, Edmunds.com senior technology editor Doug Newcomb has this to say "The Dodge Charger embodies some of the most modern technology available in a car today, and it's available in a vehicle that's within the budget of average consumers. Much of the technology, for example, is standard on the 2011 Dodge

Charger Rallye, which has a base price of $27,625. And since the Charger is a sensible sedan that masquerades as a modern day muscle car, the total package is that much more attractive."

2012 Dodge Charger Super Bee

Last month at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Chrysler Group's Street and Racing Technology (SRT) team unveiled an exclusive production run of special-edition muscle cars ? the 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8® Super Bee and the 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8® 392 Yellow Jacket.
A Look Back: Super Bee (1968-1971)

Introduced in 1968 as part of the "Scat Pack," Dodge's exclusive coterie of high-performance cars, the Dodge Super Bee offered enthusiasts muscle-car performance at an affordable price. In fact, you could buy a Super Bee for a little more than $3,000. Based on the Dodge Coronet, it was offered as a two-door coupe model only. The standard engine was a 335-horsepower version of the 383-cubic inch V8 (the legendary 426 HEMI® V8 also was available).
In 1969, the radical 440 Six-Pack was added to the Super Bee's list of engine options. By placing three Holly two-barrel carburetors on top of the 440 Magnum V8, the Super Bee generated 390 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque.
Since the 1971 Coronet was only available in sedan and station wagon versions, the Super Bee was moved to the Charger platform, but continued to offer an impressive engine lineup.
A Look Back: Super Bee (2007-2009)
For the 2007 model year, Dodge and SRT revived the Super Bee nameplate with the limited-edition Dodge Charger SRT8®. It featured "Detonator Yellow" exterior color with black hood and decklid face, unique "hockey stick" stripes on the rear fenders, Super Bee logos on front and rear fenders, and contrasting yellow stitching on the seats, steering wheel and shift knob. The wheels were fully polished versus the stock SRT8® Charger which featured wheels with silver painted areas.
The 2008 Charger SRT8® Super Bee package featured a B5 Blue Pearl Coat exterior reminiscent of the blue used by Chrysler vehicles in the 1960s and 1970s. Blue accent stitching was also found on the seats and steering wheel.   Instead of fully polished SRT8® Charger wheels, the 2008 Charger SRT8® Super Bee pockets were painted black.
In 2009, the Super Bee package featured HEMI® Orange Pearl Coat paint with decals on the hood and rear quarter fenders.   The 2009 Super Bee featured wheels with black anodized pockets and silver Brembo® brake calipers.
