The Jeep brand recently released TripCast, a free Apple iPhone® application designed to help build brand equity, retain current customers and acquire new ones. TripCast by Jeep is available as a free app download from the iTunes® Store, thus potentially exposing the Jeep brand to more than 50 million iPhone users and 100 million iTunes users.
TripCast users can track their journeys via GPS and scrapbook video, audio, photos and commentary, all in real time, all along the way. They can then post their adventures to a closed private network or share it with the world on the TripCast website, www.jeeptripcast.com. Users can post updates to their Twitter feed or facebook® page and check the database of Jeep-centric locations like Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) trails, parks, ski slopes and campgrounds. The iPod integration feature lets users create playlists and listen to music within the app. TripCast app also provides an instant link to the Jeep.com website.
"TripCast enables everyone with a sense of adventure to plan a trip, share it with friends as their journey unfolds, and find new spots to explore," Mike Manley, President and CEO, Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, said. Manley added that the new app was ideal for Jeep fans, for those who enjoy getting out and having fun, and sharing fun with friends. This, he said, was a unique way of connecting with a wide spectrum of consumers, and exposing them to the Jeep Lifestyle along the way.
